BNL GOES LIVE
Well, well, well. Looks like things are starting to go pretty good for BNL, we got the Tour De Shore on the upcoming Labor day weekend and a shiny new brand and website to boot.

We really take our cycling serious at BNL, well, maybe not that serious but we do like things to run efficiently and work that much better, so that we can bring you more premiere cycling events like the upcoming Tour De Shore.
Sit down have a coffee and have a gander around, if you got some input you would like to give, our ears are open we can always learn from other fellow cyclist’s like yourselves, even if you aren’t a fellow cyclist we don’t mind answering questions either. So long for now and enjoy the new site.
CYCLE PLANS
The first phase includes a combination of designated bike lanes and shared use lane markings on about 40K of roads throughout the city. This work is set to start right away for completion in September but some residents (particularly on roads set to lose some of their on-street parking) have lobbied the city to scrap the plan.

If you are in favor of this long-awaited plan to make St.John’s a bike-friendly city please take 20 seconds to visit ipetitions.comand get your name on the list. City Council is meeting THIS FRIDAY for further debate and without a strong show of support from the community this plan could be in jeopardy.
TT START
The time trials takes place every Tuesday night of the season starting at the G.J Cahill building and traveling a 20.7 km route racing route through the Arterial of St. John’s and Mount Pearl.
TDS UPDATE
The 2010 Tour de Shore is just around the corner, set to run Labor Day weekend September 4 & 5. Due to planned road construction in the Ferryland area there have been some slight adjustments to stage start and end points, and resulting distance changes for the Day 1 stages.

Also note that the non-competitive Peloton category has been opened up so that recreational riders can choose any stage including the long 127k Day 1 stage from St.Joseph’s to Renews.
FINAL MONDAY
The Capital Subaru Monday Night Ride is coming to and end for this season with the final ride next Monday August 30. Following the ride the group will be heading to Pizza Experts on Kenmount Road to celebrate another successful season.

Whether you rode one ride or all of them, all Monday Night riders are welcome. And even if you can’t make the final ride feel free to drop by 8:30pm or so for a slice.
