CAN-BIKE COURSES
CAN-BIKE is Canada’s only national safe cycling education program. CAN-BIKE courses empower cyclists to ride more confidently and more safely. The Canadian Cycling Association has continuously developed the CAN-BIKE program over the last 30 years and delivered it in many communities across Canada.
Bicycle Newfoundland and Labrador is the provincial CAN-BIKE delivery partner. In association with Bicycle Newfoundland and Labrador, the City of St. John’s Department of Recreation is offering CAN-BIKE courses to residents.
The CAN-BIKE program offers a proven curriculum delivered to national standards. There are courses to suit the wide range of cycling ages, ability and purpose. There are courses for adults who have never ridden bikes, for children learning to ride on the road, for adults riding on residential roads and bike paths, for rural cycling, and advanced skill development for riding in all traffic conditions.

CAN-BIKE 2
CAN-BIKE 2 is an advanced course in cooperative cycling for commuters and recreational cyclists who already ride in traffic. This course will improve your confidence and skill in riding in challenging traffic situations.
Locations: Crosbie Building, 1 Crosbie Place
Date/Time Wednesday September 21, 5:30pm – 8:30pm
Saturday September 24 & Sunday September 25, 9:00am–4:00 pm Wednesday, September 28, 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Cost:
BNL Members- $45.00
Non-BNL Members- $95.00
Ages: 18 years and up (participants must be minimum of 18 years of age by December 31, 2011).
Course Requirements
Students must meet the minimum skill level for each course AND have the following:
ü a bicycle in good working legal condition – a tune-up is highly recommended.
ü an approved bicycle helmet (CSA, Snell, ASTM, CPSC or ANSI), a bell and a lock
